Description of the Artifact
Hard rubber heel for new, or re-soled shoes. Found in the Interstate Tire Building, Railroad Row in White River Junction, Vermont in 2002-3. Both weather and chemical resistant, hard, or vulcanized, rubber soles are far more durable than leather or wood for use in climates that are seasonably cold and wet.
