About 20 years ago I was elected as a member of the circus Saints + Sinners and was “initiated” or introduced to the luncheon meeting at the Hotel Biltmore at the same time Lowel Thomas the well known world traveller + lecturer was given the same treatment — we both sat at the speakers table. I was proposed by my fiend Bill VanAthon[?] The proceeds are supposed to help a retirement fund for old circus people.
