Sculptural Heads from Oceana (Attributed). Glazed terracotta, heights vary. With Paint-by-numbers background, acrylic on board. n.d.

These little figures did not originate anywhere near the Pacific; instead they are probably the products of the Hartford, Vermont school system and were given to the Museum by several of the female members of the United Church of Christ in Hartford at their yearly rummage-sale. The similarities to Oceanic sculpture and artifacts are compelling, however. The background is from a paint by numbers set and was not donated by the Hartford Church. It was discovered in a South Roylaton thrift store.

Gift to the Museum by members of the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ (UCC), Hartford, Vermont.
