81. Charles Foote, of Colchester, (Conn.,) was married to Jerusha Chamberlain, daughter of John Chamberlain, of the same town, October, 1750. Mrs. Jerusha Foote died April 10, 1782, in the 50th year of her age. Mr. Charles Foote died August 25, 1795, aged 72.

82. Asa Foote, of Marlborough, (Conn.,) was married to Jerusha Carter, daughter of Ezra Carter, of Colchester, in the same State, April 26, 1752. Mrs. Jerusha Foote died May 15, 1770, in the 44th year of her age. Asa Foote, Esq., died May 11, 1799, in the 73d year of his age. Children.

  • 220 Asa, born May 1, 1753.
  • 221 Jerusha, born February 24, 1755.
  • 222 Ezra, born August 22, 1757. Died May 16, 1780. Never was married.
  • 223 David, born October 5, 1760. Was graduated at Dartmouth College. Was Rector of the Episcopal Church, in Rye, (N. Y.) where he died August 1, 1793, unmarried.
  • 224 Joel, born June 26, 1763.

83. JARED Foote, first of Colchester, (Conn.,) afterwards of Ellington, in the same State, where he resided five years, and then removed to Pittsfield, (Mass.,) where he resided a number of years, or until about 1798, when he removed to Cornwall, (Ver.,) and there continued to reside until his death, was thrice married. 1. To Hannah Buell, daughter of Capt. Timothy Buell, of He- bron, (Conn.,) 1753. She died April 5, 1774, in the 39th year of her age. 2. To Hepzibah Phelps, daughter of Charles Phelps, of Marlborough, (Conn.,) from whom he was subsequently

  • 714 Elisha, born 1783. Was the Hon. Elisha Foote, Judge of Otsego Common Pleas, (N.Y.) Judge Foote emigrated to Warren, Herkimer County, (N. Y.,) about 1803,—to Cooperstown, same State, 1804, (being then 21 years of age.) Married Mary Squier, in 1807, by whom he had
    • Henry J. Foote, who died in infancy;
    • Eliza H. Foote and
    • Harriet Newell Foote. Harriet Newell, daughter of Judge Foote, married Hon. William Marvin, of Key West, (Florida.) United States' Judge, and an able, excellent man, a native of Tompkins County, (N.Y.) She died in the summer of 1848, leaving one child, only. *See Appendix I.

Mary, his wife, died in 1820. In 1821, he married Eliza J. Blague, daughter of Mr. Giles Blague, of Saybrook, (Conn.) by whom he had one daughter,

  • Mary J. Foote.

In June, 1829, his second wife, Eliza J., died. In 1831, he married again to Sarah Beemis, of Cooperstown. Judge Foote died in Cooperstown. (N.Y.) February 22, 1842, æ. 58.

216. Chloe Foote was married to Richard Mott, of Hudson, (N.Y.,) From Hudson, they removed to West-Stockbridge, (Mass.,) and there lived several years, and thence to Sheffield, in the last named State, where we lose sight of him.
Mrs. Chloe Mott died in the city of New York.

217. ELIAs Foote, of Franklin, (N.Y.,) was married to Sally Tracy, daughter of Ezekiel Tracy, of Otego, in that State, March, 1809. Mr. Elias Foote was in life at a late date.
