Former Resident of Stamford Died in San Francisco
Mrs. Frances Maynard Ford died in San Francisco, August 16, 1943, after an illness of a year. Interment with committal services was made at Delhi, Sunday, August 22d at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jackson A. Martin, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in charge. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Harris and Louisa Ford, of San Francisco, and a son, Maynard Ford, of Fitchburg, Mass.
She was a native of Stamford, daughter of Isaac H. Maynard, who owned the house on Delaware street now that of Dr. J.G. Simmons. Her father served both as Delaware county judge and supreme court justice and was among the state's most prominnent jurists. He was a member of the Stamford Board of Education in 1889.
On Feburay 26, 1903, Miss Maynard married David Ford and they resided in Stamford for some time, at one time owning thre Cottage Hotel, and also the cottage on Ford Hill now the property of A. Carrabillo. They left Stamford a number of years ago. Mrs. Ford had lived in Portland, Me., and New York City until she moved to the west coast about three years ago. She had been a frequent visitor to Stamford and to Delhi, the home of her mother's people, the Martin family [findagrave;193172349].

Ford-In this city, August 16th, 1943, Frances Maynard, dearly beloved mother of Mrs. Lucy Harris, Louisa and Maynard Ford, loving grandmother of David Ford and John Harris.
Friends are invited to attend services today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Mortuary of Suhr & Wieboldt, 1465 Valencia St. between 25th and 26 Sts. Remains will be forwarded to Delhi, New York for services and interment in family plot.
